i was leaving a car show last night and my car ran great on the way there i left and got one it and it took off and run great then i came to the next light and when i was stoping it started to idel funny and back fired everytime i came to a lite or went to stop.now when i hit the gas it is slugish and it pops.it runs and idels ok when not in gear but as soon as i put it in revrse or in drive and the motor is under a load is when it does it.

 

does anyone have anyideas to help me im out of ideas to try.i scaned it and seems that everything.

 

Mine does the same thing under load. It's not all the time though, just after it wamrs up for a bit. When it does it, I can hear a sligh hissing, like possibly a vacuum leak, but I'm not sure, I haven't had time to check it. Can you hear a slight hissing too?

 

my car used to do that when i first got it. I changed the opti, wires and plugs and it stopped doing it. I do have one problem and that is when ive been driving for a while(like you were describing) and i come to a stop, my engine starts to rev and car starts to surge forward. is this the "funny idle" you are talking about? if so read the "surging, reving on its own" thread. there are quite a few people in there with a similar problem.

 

change the plugs mine does that after like 10 passes i have to change the plugs

 

if you have to do that dosnt that mean something else is wrong.like i said it was fine until i got on it now it runs like crap.could there be something wrong in side the motor.
