well I think I'll run the car today without the tstat and see how it does. I think I got coolant on my opti because I took the car out to see if driving it would help with the over heating and it ran like complete ****

Could a clogged heater core cause this? They are prone to clog up on these cars.

I just realized my car has been making this nasty sounding noise lately and its gotten worse as my overheating problem has worsened so im fairly sure its the waterpump not working. im going to replace it with an electric CSR.

whats the big plastic thing hanging off the intake elbow and will it hurt to take it off?

Air silencer, you can remove it and plug the hole with a deodorant cap or shampoo cap, whatever you can find to fit it.

any performance difference without it? I just know it needs to be out of the way if I want to run an electric waterpump

that gear is pretty messed up. i cant tell as there is no "end-on" shot of the gear, but from the looks of it was slipping pretty good and not moving much water, if at all.

so yea, that likely has something to do with your problem.

good time to go to an elec wp.

will I still get HP gains from an EWP if I let the timing gear "freespin" and not remove it? See, I want to save money and not take the timing cover off to remove. I dont have extra cash for a gasket nor do I know how to properly seal the timing cover if I was to take it off.
