Help! Overheating

I am having an overheating problem. Its totally random when it happens and i keep track of my guages pretty well i dont know what is happening but day before yesterday she got real hot and started dumping coolant evreywhere. I figured i let her get low or something.... So i went and put in a gallon and a half of Dex Cool. She was totally good. Didnt overheat even when i was playin with her. But today i get home and park and i smell that dreadful smell again i look under my car and there it is! A small puddle had formed and i looked in the engine bay and it was leaking from the cap (not on the radiator) and it wasnt steaming or anything this time but still.. WTF????

I Guess You Are Talking About The Overflow Jug. When I Was Brand New To The Lt1 It Took Me A While To Figure This Out. Mine Did The Same Thing. You Have To Bleed The System. Especially If You Put That Much Antfreeze In It.

Re: Help! Overheating

Change the "T" stat and refill with no more than 50/50 mix. Too much coolant will make it run hot too.
Make sure ya bleed the hell out of it too.

like he siad I would check the t-stat, then refill with coolant 50/50 mix. Also make sure you bleed it well, I know I forgot to once and it made it keep running hot
