Yup...I went out this morning, jacked the car, and hit the pan with a mallet, and guess what...pickup tube is laying in the bottom =\ I guess on my day off Thursday I'll go into my work, put the car up in the air, support the motor from the top side, and drop the k-member down far enough that I can get the pan off. A pressed in pickup tube was good enough for the factory, why wasn't it good enough for me? Oh well...I knew better, but instead got in a hurry and put the motor together without welding the tube on.
