Help my choose a cam.....goals inside

The car is a 1995 Camaro Z28. Current mods are: CAI, Taylor OVC wires, Hooker LTs, custom 3" exhaust, and 3" cutout, and an NX wet kit (100 shot).

I want to do a cam, and only a cam (plus rockers, timing, etc)....for now. I want a cam that can be daily driven and still get great gas mileage. It must also make some nice N/A power as well as be able to take a 100 - 150 shot for track/street use.

what do you guys recommend, hotcam kit, cc306, XE230/236 or......??

and I would also get some tuning once I had a cam........

You just described the LT4 HC. While the others are great cams they all have problems in one area or another for your combo. The LT4 HC will give some nice HP gains and my combo gets 27 MPG HWY 18 MPG in town (With a little getting on it also), and I have not even had my ECM tuned yet. Now if you where just looking for HP the 306 is a great choice but gas milage and driveability will both suffer, and you will need some one who can tune to help get rid of the cam surge with a 306. I have a HC in my 350 LT1 and went with the 306 for my stroker so I can speak for both of these cams mabey someone else can chime in on the others but at under $150 the HC is a hard cam to top for the money.

I'd look at the Crane 210/224. It has a broad, flat torque curve with very good low end power, plus it'll rev up to 6,200 rpm. Some have run mid/high 11's with stock heads. I will be putting this in my car by the end of the year. The hotcam and I think the ZZ9 are also similar cams you might want to look at.
