I've got this weekend to figure out if I'm going to either buy a lt4 afr head/cam or i'm going to buy a p1sc procharger .....Need some advice from people with either as to which is going to give me the best "less aggravation/more hp" scenario.

 

with forged internals... I'd go heads and cam first... before I'd hit up the Profarter

 

In the end, you could get about the same power to the wheels with either. But remember, it takes about half the horsepower a supercharger created to turn it. In other words, if your supercharger puts 100 to the wheels, it takes 100 to turn. So your engine is actually putting out 200 hp, but you only use 100 of it. This puts a lot of constant stress on your engine. I say h/c.

Heads and cam . I dont like the idea of My HP breaking down ..LOL..although SC's are fairly reliable .
Actually Id get a Turbo.. those things are WICKED on our cars . SC's take to much power to make it . Not saying i wouldnt Have one though .

 

I was looking at a set of lt4 afr heads, how much hp are some of yall making with a good head/cam combo??

 

Try ai or llyoid elliot there heads/cam combos make some nice power...i hope to get at least 370rwhp with heads i ported myself and a 230/236 cam.

 

are you running 4.10s on a bolt on lt1?

 

If you are on a budget, the stock castings aren't too bad. I would spend the money on the valve train.

 

Yes i am and i love it... kinda screams on the highway but its alot of fun. Although i haven't been able to drive my car for a few months. Before the heads cam i had a flowmaster and cai and a hypertech but now im gona run hooker lts and true duals

 

were are your shift points?

 

was shifting a 6k with the stock cam, but i dont think it helped any and the hypertech was a peice of crap. I think ill have whoever tunes it set the shift points at 6300 or so... only one track that is around here and its 3 hours away so i havent got yet and not sure if i run out of gear.

 

Oh and i only drove the car for about a week with the 4.10s before i decided to do the heads cam... im doing the swap in autoshop(highschool) so its been down for a while.

 

The instant feed back and pull of a power adder car is addictive from what I have heard. And watching some races, I would have to agree.

Procharge it.

I would do heads and cam First. Have the chambers opened up to get the compression down a little more then add an SC.
