Help me pick a cam !

I am at the point were i want some more performance from my Z. I am looking to cam the car i am basically looking for a cam that i can achevie a 12.50 or better in the quarter on motor and run in the 11's on a 125 shot. I daily drive this car everyday atleast 200 miles a week so i want something that is streetable. I dont want to change injectors or TB. My mods are 3.73, coldair, long tubes, ory, cutout, ac delete, tune, drag radials, 3000 stall , but am in the middle of a m6 swap. I dont care about emissions cause i have away around that but dont want to be stopped by the police every time i drive the car. How does the 503 compare to the 227. thanks

I havent had one, but i havent heard anything bad about the cc503, great dd cam, still giving quite a bit of power. or you could just get the hotcam(little cheaper than piecing together the 503) and i also havent heard anything bad about that cam either.. both will get you too your goal and be very streetable

Hmm, always a hard question to anwser. I would have to say cc503 cause that is the general concensus on what to get for DD. I myself run a 230+ duration cam and I consider it "streetable", I am more than sure that is quite overkill for a 350 and stock heads. So I say cc503.

GM 847 or go home

Seriously, the CC503 is a proven performer for OTS applications.

Does anyone have any times for stock headed 503 or bigger cam only cars. I personally think my car should be good for atleat a 13.0 in the 1/4 cause it feels pretty stong and when i ran my freinds mustang i beat him about 4-5 cars and he runs 13.40's with a stock headed B303 cam only car with the usual boltons. I was thinking about a cc306 or gm847 but i dont want the car to be redicously loud. My friend with a 87 mustang has a 306 sbf with trickflow heads, victor jr intake, flowmasters with true duals and shorties, he is running comp extreme energy cam that specs ot 234 244 540 lift and on 110 lobe sep, i is pretty simlar to the gm 847 but has less lift and is on a 110 lobe sep, and his cam is loud as f**k and is to radical on the street for a daily driver. Will it make a difference in a motor with 50 more cubes and on a 112 lobe sep or will it still be just as radical and have alot of cam surge. Does anyone in the NY area want to give me a ride in there stock headed cam only car (LoL)

I hope you are right cause there is a 598 big block truck talking smack about lt1 cars saying how they cant bust the 11's with a stock bottom end , But sadly his 598 " 755 hp scott shafiroff motor only goes 11.90's and his exscuse is he is 4600 pounds and when i tell him about stock bottom end B-body cars running what he is he wants to run my bolton car.

A stock bottom end lt1 not hitting 11's? Tell that guy he is an idiot. Cam/heads/intake/bolt ons can hit low 11's. Might even be able to skip the intake and a couple bolt ons lol.

How does the ai or le cams compare to an of the shelf grind for stock heads. Dont want to spend 400 plus just for a cam that is gonna give me 5 more hp.

Can anyone post a dyno chart of one of those cams vs a off the shelf grind or more important time slips.

That's a LOT of cam for a 302! The exhaust is what will make the car loud, or not.

My GM847 isn't too loud at all. AS&M headers, no cat, flowmaster catback.

The grass probably muffles the sound some, too.
