Angry help me with my tranny pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee

ok, at WOT AT AROUND 4500-5000 rpm's my car feels like it skips to the rev limiter which is set at 6600rpm's. Does anyone elses do that? Could it be the silonoid or the acumilator? it will not shift the 2-3 shift, the 1-2 is fine though. please help me out here guys

thanks

sounds like you have 2 problems.....won't shift to 3rd and cutting out. will it shift to 3rd when you are NOT WOT? does it cut out around 4500-5000RPM in every gear or jsut as your reaching the top of 2nd?

my car had both of these problems at the same time. one was a shift silonoid in the tranny(sometimes it worked fine and others it jsut gave me 1 and 2nd gear) and the cutting out was bad plug wires.....they jsut both happened within a week of each other.

I had the 'wont shift 2-3' [if I let off a little it would shift] before and I had the transmission serviced and it fixed it. ie. Change tranny fluid, flush lines, change filters. Im having the problem with the shifting again, so I guess i'm going to get it serviced soon again.

Yea, it shifts fine when i am not at WOT. It does not cut out of gear everytime either. It is just at WOT, the 2-3 shift. Car runs and shifts fine during regular driving. I just dropped it off at the tranny shop. He had said something about a silonoid also. Was
that a $$$$ item or cheap? It is weird, under WOT after the 1-2 shift, it hits like 4500 rpm's and it feels like it skips and hits the rev limiter. Did yalls do that as well. I just got it out of the tranny shop December of 01. I think it is actually my 4th time in there..
Are there any GOOD parts that i need to ask for if its the 2-3 clutch?

thanks

If it is shifting ok at less than WOT, then it is a oil volume problem. This could be due to cross leaks, in the accumulation side of the 2nd gear servo, wear in the front pump (decreasing oil volume), increasing 3-4 clutch clearance due to normal wear & tear, etc. One of the problems is from the factory that the 3rd gear feed hole is on the small side. One common simple fix is to install the Corvette servo, if you do not already have one, another is install the larger boost valve from Trans-Go. There is no guarantee that this will fix it , and this assumes that the 3-4 clutches are still in good shape.
