Help me Fix this LT1

Hey Every1

I need anyones help who can help me! My LT1 has a blown headgasket and I would like to know the cheapest way to fix it without doing a bad job on it, I went to one place and they told me that they would want 1,750 dollars to fix it. Now this is my first car and I dont really know that much yet about cars, so I dont know if thats a good price to replace both headgaskets or not. If anyone on here lives in Tucson, AZ maybe you can help me by telling me a good place to fix my car or a good mechanic that can do it. I would really apreciate this help.

Thats how much shops around here charge in CANADIAN funds. Actually they charge $1600 cdn. So I would say $1750 u.s. is high.

I don't live in Tucson but i've been there, nice city. Anywho, about the question. Yes $1700 is high, you should have told them it's a 350 in a caprice or something, then it probably would have been lower. My friend was quoted $1200 on replacing a mustangs head gasket. Personally i would do it myself seeing as shops are money sucking machines. It wouldn't be that hard, more time consuming. Search for replacing head gaskets, i'm sure you can find some tech articles.
