help!

I found something interesting by accident today.

To the right of the PCM, where the a/c box is, there is an interesing black plastic piece that joins 3 vacuum lines together. What exactly is this, and what does it do? And where can I get a new one?

I've been battling a hissing under load, and poor performance. Turns out its a vacuum leak, I had zero vacuum since this valve was cracked in half.

I've put a vacuum cap on each of the 3 hoses - will this be ok to run it like this for the time being?

Any dealership will have one.

Might be EGR related.

It is the vacuum supply line for the mode controls for the HVAC system. The reason for the valve is to allow connection to a vacuum tank that stores vacuum for times when engine vacuum is low. That enables you to have vacuum to the controls in any situation.
