Help! installing B&M Sport Shifter (P#45052)
hey guys.. got my new shiftin system. its for a 6 speed tranny in my 95..
i was reading through the instructions (ya i figured id try it out one of these days.. dont wanna go n mess somethin in that t56) and it says to:
"Remove all traces of the original sealer from the shifter mounting surface. Put new RTV Sealer on the top surface of the transmission and install the B&M Short throw shifter."
1. what is RTV sealer.
2. why didnt it come with it.
3. do i really need to replace it.
4. can i grab it at any local autoparts store if really necessary
Thanks in advances guys!

RTV is a silicone based sealer that is common at any parts store. I usually use the black stuff. Be carefully not to scrap the old sealer into the tranny.

i figure most shifters are the same anyways, a few minor differences, but all perform the job
