Help! I may have screwed my opti.

Well here's the story my heater hasn't been working and I was told to flush my heater core by shoebox and some other smart people .But I, being the dumb person didn't really take their advice on keeping water off the optispark. Well I tried but I am messy I ended up just shooting water everywhere . I tried to start my engine and it starts for about a second and then dies. I could have gotten a little water in the engine, but not much (I had the intake off to get to a hose.) It starts perfect and runs perfect for a second then no matter what you do it dies. Does this sound like optispark or water in the intake. Next time I'm gonna be a little more careful. please help I need my car here pretty soon. If it is the opti can I dry it out or do I have to buy a new one? Thanks

Make sure you did not leave anything disconnected, like your MAF. I know, someone is going to say "it'll run without the MAF connected", but just check it, ok?

I won't say it, just look at my car the wrong way and it won't start

If all else fails and your opti really is wet inside you could try disconnecting the two vent lines and using a hair dryer or compressed air or something to force any moisture out. A day or two shouldn't actually be enough to corrode anything, but could knock it out until it dries. Of course if the condition of your opti is questionable this may not work. Mine is less than a year old, you can drench it and no hiccups.

Of course, all that info is completely useless if you forgot to hook something up.

I think I hooked everything up right it must not like me. Should I take the vents off and try to blow it out? do I have to take the whole opti out to do this? thanks for the help guys.

Re: Help! I may have screwed my opti.

I got it running. I just had to hook the maf sensor back up and it worked. maybe I looked at it just right. I don't know. Once again SHOEBOX IS RIGHT!. Wow i figured if I had the wires still hooked up it wouldn't matter if the intake tube was hooked up or not. Thanks alot.
