help with heads and cam combo
currently my bottem end is being built (383 eagle forged rotating assembly) not sure of pistons yet, splayed 4 bolt mains, my goal is to be into the 10:70s at best, im not sure of what heads to go with, i currently have le2 heads. im still deciding if i will go over to solid roller cam, want to keep it n/a but will like to have it handle up to 200 shot of n20 in future
car went a best of 11.87 at 114 w/ 1.69 60 ft 2 years ago
specs then were
383 le2 h/c car, 9:8:1 compression mad z tune 58mm tb, full exhaust
3600 stall built trans,
12bolt w/ 3:91 gears
spohn tunnel brace mount torqe arm
17" zr1's w/ mt drag radials
since then i have added
prostars skinnys up front and in back w/ 26x11 hoosier slicks
relocation brackets,
when engine is done this will be installed/ done
umi front lower a arms,
qa1 275# springs front
qa1 12 way adjustable shocks front
umi tubular k member
abs delete
some weight reduction (100 lbs at most for now)
dyno tune
just unsure of a good head and cam combo that will help get me to my goal but wont break the bank. thanks guys. ill be posting this on other sites too
car must be streetable i do enjoy taking it out on weekends but its not my daily driver by far lol

Best bet would be to call Loyd again, or advanced induction. Otherwise you may or may not hit your goal. Was the 11.70 on a 200 shot? That will take down your E.T. nicely possibly hitting 10.70's.
Also, just a side note when writing ratios it is like this.
9.8:1
3.91:1
E.T.'s are generally 10.7 opposed to 10:70 (11:10 ) Just a future reference there.

Last fall Lloyd helped pick a cam to help Larry from a local speed shop put his 396 in the high 10's. So I'd have to agree and say give LE a call. Even if you only come up with a 11.20 or so a 200 shot should put you in the high 9's.

No not Larry, "Lloyd" that helped Larry. Once money permits, I'll be using a slightly bigger cam and have Lloyd go over my heads again. I'd like to build a nice N2O ready 355.

the best pass of 11.87 was not on a 200 shot it was n/a on a mail order tune. car felt strong down low but running out of steam up top(was not breaking up at all) just felt slugish up top,
i will have a dyno tune when its all back together, at the time i made my best pass i was on a madz28 mail order tune.
it was at englishtown track, unsure of the elevation
i was wondering the same thing about the mph being kind of low. i will dig up my time slip and see if i can post every spec of it, thank you for all your help

maybe you were experiencing valve float, an LE2 car should have no problem getting in the high teens with a stock shortblock, mid-low teens would indicate that something is wrong whether it be tune, ignition, fuel, valvetrain, or simply track elevation.
edit: englishtown seems to only have an elevation of 178 ft so that'd indicate that it's the car itself imo, just noticed you had a low compression 383 for a n/a car, any reason for that?

the reason why it is low compression is because i was planning at the time for a little boost (10 psi max) we can rule out valve float too because it was checked for and was no evidence on the dyno tune back in july 08'.
