Help friend

My friend has been shopping for cams and he wants the LT4 hot cam. So he asked my about it and i told him i didnt know much about it and said that i will ask some the guys on the forum to help him out. So to the question, he came across the LT4 hot cam kit at thunderracing.com ant it came w/ the following GM LT4 Hot Cam Kit, 218 / 228, .525 / .525 112 LSA Lift #'s w/1.6 Rockers. Complete kit includes GMPP 1.6 Roller Rockers, valve springs, retainers, valve locks & shims for $659.99. So he wants to know is that a good price and what else should he get/need like exhaust, bigger tb, stall, etc.... He has a 95 Z28 A4 w/ CAI and factory 2.73. So tell me what you guys think and help my friend out. Also if that kit doesnt sound good what other cam/setup would you guy recommend him or another combo type kit. Oh and this car will be a daily driver and will see track once and a while. Thanks again.

That cam is a great cam for starters! Jason Cromer has alot better price and someone might be able to help and give you his number. Good price is around 525-550. Then some headers and full exhaust would go good next. Then depending how much he wants to spend, Port out the heads, Add a bigger stall and some gears and that thing would haul. TB is really needed but thats a debate in its self. Alot of people like myself find the 224/230 cam alot better, but it is a little mroe expensive and not as emmisions friendly. But both cams are great improvements!

I think you can get it for like $480 from somebody. And that is a good price. If you are spending $600 get in on a cam GP from Combination Motorsports and get a larger cam.

You don't need a bigger TB. You won't be making but 340 ish. You need headders, and ported heads. If you don't do anything do those. You need to be knocking on the door of 400 ponies to need a 52mm TB.

Agreed on the heads, I regret not doing my heads when I did my cam, Heads are a HUGE improvement to do while you are there if you have a little extra cash
