I washed it this morning at 9 so it should of had plenty of time to dry I got it started once and it was very very rough and the idle kept going really low then back up but the whole car was shaking and after 30 min i tried to move it up the driveway because it was sticking halfway into the street and it stalled im afraid i really f###ed something up,.
It can take days to dry (if it even will). It is not recommended to spray water on the distributor (most often called optispark). Pray that it will dry out and you can delay in having to get a new one ($300 at the cheapest and you do the work yourself).
Now you know all those people you talked to were mistaken.
