Question Help!! Coolant overflow after tb bypass

I figured it was time to do the tb bypass. I connected everything up, started car and began bleeding. Got air out to the point where coolant came out the bleeders but than coolant started pouring out of my resovoir..I figured the t-stat didn't open up yet, so I disconnected my fans to let the engine temp rise, cause I have a 160 degree switch. The temp got to over 225 and still the coolant level in the resovoir was up to the top. Is the t-stat stuck? Should I start the car up and try to bleed again? Everytime I open the bleed screws, coolant comes out. Just the damn coolant level won't go down. Does the radiator cap have to be off? Everything was fine before. Any info?

Double check that you did you plumbing correctly. You didn't by chance connect the steam tube to the overflow tank hose coming off the radiator neck?

No. everything was hooked up right. I started the car again and ran it for like 5 minutes, and by the grace of God, the coolant had gone down. Thanx for the response though.

I don't think it was air. I had a steady flow of coolant at both bleeders. I'm assuming the t-stat maybe got stuck and wasn't allowing the flow of coolant.
