have a 93 z28 6sp with 134000 miles. will start and drive fine, than once in awhile just cut out and die. and wont start again for about an hour. now a shop about 20 miles away will do a diagnostic for 70 bucks, but i dont trust it to make it there. and a tow is 75 bucks each way. thats 220 bucks before any bolts are even turned! car has original plugs, wires and opti(i know, iknow). and only mods are in sig. any ideas or band aids to get it there to save at least the tow money?

Is it throwing any codes? Buy a cable and get software and diagnose it yourself if that is the case.

 

I have a laptop if thats what you mean. what is a good software and cable package and where can i pick one up/price?
And by diagnostic i meant the big machine not a code scanner. but if can turn the laptop i already have into a code scanner, thats something i would be intrested in.

 

I got my cable from www.Mastach.com . You can also get cables from www.akmcables.com and other places. For the software, I would think that you'd need Datamaster DA (I don't think any other programs work on 93's). PM Gripenfelter and he can help you get the software.
