Angry HELP....cant get plug in all the way???

i have the leak located and its coming from around the third spark plug back on the drivers side. It seems tight but it just doesnt seem to be in all the way. I took it out and tired to put it back in but it just stops turning after a certain point, and i dont think it is all the way in..its too far out...what can i do to get it to line up right???

Your not cross threading it are you? Make sure it is going in straight like it should.

Try a thread chaser, gooped up with grease to catch any shavings. No way to know if your threads are buggered or not. It's kind of a delicate thing. Worst case is you will have to pull the head to have the hole heli-coiled.

where do you get a thread chaser, what size, and will it fix the problem??? or since it it pretty tight in the hole could i just put some teflon tape on the plug threads to stop the leak....car seems to run good with no hesitations....

I have a KD tools one that has 18mm (for older plugs) on one side and 14mm on the other (14mm is our plug size). I think I got it at NAPA, but I have seen them other places, too.

It's a judgement call. You could make it worse and the plug not fit at all.

What is a judgement call, using a thread chaser or using teflon tape??
