Help Blue Smoke

Yesterday on my way home from work, im driving next to my friend... i punch it... the next day he tells me that when i hit the gas pedal, a cloud of blue smoke came out of my exhaust... what does this mean? Could it be caused by running a too think/thin motor? Last time the oil was changed i believe they put 15-50w in it... could that be the problem? Do I need an overhaul?

Would using a too thin of an oil cause this? If so is it too late to change the oil and plugs without any side effects?
