Help blown head gasket

Have a blown head gasket. I work at a mechanic shop, so labor is next to nothing. I have 5500$ to spend. NOw the heads have not been taken off the car yet so idont know if they are still good, it is getting towed down next week. But the machine shop we send all are stuff to is quite repretable so im not concerned with them making mistakes on whether it is good or not. My question to you. What to do, the car has 104,000 miles on it, m6( getting the clutch changed when the engine is pulled, and most boltons( headers, intake to tb, fanswtich, 160*, full exhaust, 4.10). I have a couple questions 1) what do i do to the engine with 5500 if the heads turn out to be good, 2) what do i do to the engine if my heads turn out to be bad. if the answer is 1 my idea is to have the heads sent to Le and have a rebuilt kit put in as well as my block honed, bored .30 over, and mayeb even a 383 rotaiting assembly. But if my heads turn out to be bad, Purchase a set of GM performance Lt4 heads, have them ported at the machine shop, and have a 306 cam installed along with a rebuild kit. ( i get factory parts at cost). So what do you guys think, im open for ideas, the 550 is for the engine alone no other mods ( they are already there or will follow. My biggest concern is reliability, followed by power any help you can offer is appreciated.
Steven.
