Help ASAP! questions about installing Long tubes

Hey I was wondering if any of you who have installed long tubes on your car..

Do you have to hammer in the passenger side of the underbody of the car to get them in?

Do you have to take off the engine mount bracket?

My passenger side went in fairly easy after jacking up the motor. The drivers side is the on I had problems with.

My passenger side went in, in about 10 minutes. Jack up that one side of the motor, have the plugs, oil dip stick, and starter out, and get her in from the bottom, she slips right in. Its the driver side you have to worry about, we droped my K member 2 inches and slipped it in.

I just got done with mine and started it yesterday.
I did what he said, crawled under the car, un-bolted the motor mount and jacked up with a block under the oil pan. BE SURE YOU USE A BLOCK OR SOMETHING TO DISTRIBUTE THE WEIGHT or you will destroy the oil pan.

Just do the !motormount mod and have fun man!

I know exactly what you are saying, when I did it, took me three days. I had problemns with the drivers side unfortunately. The K-member can be moved around for fine adjustments; so if your car has been in an accident, which I have reason to believe mine has, then the K member might not be lined up properly. In order to fit my drivers side in, I had to jack the car up to my waist (I'm 6'4") jack the motor (easier than it sounds) and cut a small part of the lip of the K-member off. There was really no other way. I even tried going in from the top. When I did the passenger side however, I just had to jack the motor and it fell right into place in less than 10 seconds. Some cars are just funny, different people will have different problems. I was one that had to gut the K-member.

Good luck with it.

I just got done doing mine , the car needs to be really really high in the air . nose was almost chest high and I am 5"10

you may have to jack the passenger side up and pretty much stand the passenger side on end and get it in . You may have to put some pressue on it but it will go

I finished installing my headers...

Passenger side went in from the top. You have to stick the headers in as far as they can go w/ the engine in the normal position, then jack up the engine some, push the headers in a littl more, then jack it up some more, then push them in. They'll go in.

Driver side: Jack the engine up a few inches, then from underneath, hammer in the corner of the firewall that gives you fits, you'll see it when you're under there, then slide the headers in from the bottom.

That's how I did mine. Worked pretty well.
