Also, wrong forum but since you seem like you are about ready to shoot somebody, I don't want to move it and be charged with murder so I'll leave it here for a bit

Yes, right through the radiator and condensor. Doesn't really matter... you are just trying to securely mount the tranny cooler however you can do it, just do it

also it looks like all u do is pop off a hose (from tranny) from the metal piece and connect one hose from the cooler to one end and the other hose of the cooler to the other end..this sound right..reply ASAP please
help!
Did you look at this picture?

http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/94Z/tranny15.jpg

There are two lines... one has a factory "crimp" to connect the metal piece to the rubber. You leave this one alone. The other you can pull apart. You pull it apart and hook your cooler up between these two connections you just pulled apart.

Here is what it will look like when done... with the line you took apart, both "pieces" of this line will be going to the B&M tranny cooler.

(the only line im dealing with is the one with a hardline to the tranny..correct?) just pop off the hose, connect that hose to the copper piece i have in the set then to my cooler hose and then connect the other cooler hose to the hardline to the tranny... right?

^ right? also i am using the B&M and i was going to mount it with the hoses pointing DOWN and drilling 2 holes in the mud flap and routing it that way (got it from shocktrp a member here) my question is..is this ok to mount it upside down and also it doesnt matter which of the hoses i use for in and out.

There are TWO hard lines going to the tranny... one is the OUT to the cooler(s) and the other is the IN from the cooler(s). The only hard line you need to mess with is the one that you can without taking a hacksaw to it... the one that has a simple clamp that you can remove and then disconnect the line. The other line you can't disconnect easily.

Think of it as cutting a yellow wire in half then putting a red wire inbetween the now two yellow pieces of wire. Well, the yellow wire is the existing line in your car that you pull apart (cut) and the red wire is your entire B&M tranny cooler assembly. You simply "splice" your B&M tranny cooler in like you would if you were splicing in a wire.

I don't think your B&M has a specific in and out but not certain. If it doesn't say anything in your manual or on the cooler then I doubt it matters

Mounting it like you are saying seems like extra work as compared to what I did. If others are doing it then it must work but I wanted to keep my lines out of the air deflector.

ok here it goes...
http://www.fbody.com/members/bc95ta/

pic # 4 is a pic of the hard line were the oil comes from the tranny were my finger is is the stock tranny cooler.

pic # 5 were my finger is is the hose that carrys the oil out of the stock cooler this needs to come of from the other metal hard line and connect to a new hose going to the top of your aftermarket cooler. You can see the fitting I used at the bottom of the pic.
this is the 1st connection u need to make.

pic #6 is the new hose that connected in the last pic this just shows it connected to the aftermarket cooler

pic #7 is another new hose you need that is going from the exit of the aftermarket cooler

pic #8 is the last connection u need to make. It just completes the circle. It goes to the hard line that goes back to the tranny. It's hard to see but I'm pointing right to it.

bdc95ta, now that is the kind of service I wish I'd get at my local fast food joints. DAYMN! Go out in the middle of the night, under the car, and take pics for a complete stranger

94zLT1, it has been proven that hooking up the two coolers in series (the factory and aftermarket) will give you better cooling than just hooking up one or the other. The cooling effectiveness so to speak overcomes the slightly degraded flow due to the extra restrictions caused by the 2nd cooler. So, in this case and with a good cooler, two coolers are better than one

YES! Why didn't you just say that an hour ago then I could have simply said *YES* and bdc95ta wouldn't have had to go lay on his back in the middle of the night (hmm.... unless he has a lift which he might just have. LOL!)

So this would be a good idea, use a stock one and a 24,000 GVW B&M? For the most long living A4?

Yes. For even a 100% otherwise stock A4 Z28, it can only help to install a tranny cooler. They cost about $50 and can help save your tranny or at least make it last a bit longer.
