Help! Anyone who owns or has heard an SLP 2OTL

Some may remember I asked about this exhaust on here a few weeks back. I have one more question that wasn't quite answered...how much louder at idle is this exhaust? MA inspection regs state that if an exhaust is "significantly" louder than stock, it fails. It IS however up to the discretion of the inspector. IMO, with a single side outlet, the exhaust screams sleeper anyways...

BUT...FYI, how much louder is this puppy, stock, at idle? Thanks for the help...I plan to order this, an SLP CAI and airfoil, and a Voretc elbow this week!

It has a nice rumble at an idle. If they give you S**T about it, bring up the fact that SS's came with it as "Stock" equipment for quite a few years. I like the sound of it, just not the look, I really wish SLP would have made that same exhaust, the power flow, aka TOL with one out on each side. Its reallly a nice exhaust, you can get it in stainless and it wont wake the Dead like the Loud Mouth, but you'll be heard with it, especially when when you get on it, or at WOT.

is not exactly the same exhaust system in the 96/97 SS, this one is less restrictive. it has a very deep sound, however it is not loud at idle or at wot. i'm running mine with longtubes and cam and everyone tells me it sounds like a mix of a camaro and a mustang, it does not have the typical sound of a camaro. I've owned several systems(borla, assmaster, bassani) this ones probably the one that backfires the least. I really dont think you would have problems passing inspections.

I love the sound of my SLP 2OTL catback. It has a very deep tone to it while cruising but at idle it is not too loud. I would recommend getting it! You have my vote! good luck in your choice.

Mine was pretty tame at idle.Until I swapped cams.It is still fairly quiet. It had a nice burble to it so you knew there was some muscle behind it.I dont think you can go wrong with the 2OTL.

Thanks guys...the general consensus is I should go for it...so I will Its also going to get an SLP CAI, airfoil, and oh yeah...what do you guys think of the 1LE elbow vs the elbows from Vortec or Trick Flow in Summit that are alloy? Are those better?

I just got mine welded up tonight. Sounds Great. I swapped in a off road pipe and i don't think i like it. It gets a little to wild. I'll put the cat in again tomorrow. With the cat it sounds like a nice tuned exhaust. I am running SLP headers too. It is quite enough at idle that i'd think you'd be ok. Remind them that it's a v8 if you have to. Below 2k rpms it is very nice and suttle, then begins to scream if you stay on it. I noticed that mine has a tiny crack in one of the welds of the pipe to the muffler. (i bought it used) Meineke didn't have a mandrel bender but i got it done anyways because i couldn't stand the open headers. I'm going to have a better shop replace the elbow they put in and zap the crack in the muffler. They don't have any appointments till next week though. As you can tell i'm kinda excited and i'm typing a lot. Anyways, It's great, tone and volume, you'll love it as long as your down with the driverside exit which i also like.

I must say, I love the exhaust. I do have it as an option on my '96 SS. The stainless steel is great. It can be polished rather nicely. The 2OTL is definitely one of the best systems out there.
