Help!! ABS INOP light and Brake light both on!

Both my abs inop light and brake light are on. I have no taillights out. Yes the ebrake is down for sure. Any ideas on this. I have removed the calipers before and messed with it. They have been bled correctly to my knowledge with two people and a lift. Doing the mushy pedal thing and what not. Someone please give me some ideas, this is annoying in the least. Thanks in advance, Michael

abs light comes on every once and awhile and stays on, then will go off another time when driving. I have no idea here. Thanks, Michael

dumb question but have you checked your brake fluid? Not exactly sure about the abs light but if your brake light is on and you have a mushy pedal then you could be loosing pressure either from a leaky hose caliper or master cylinder think that could set the abs but not sure ide prolly lean more to a spped sensert or abs motor for the abs light on but have it scanned and see what coide it is

Fluid is good and the pedal feels fine when braking. It doesnt appear like anything is wrong. The abs still works as well. I guess i can run to the town south of here that has the autoxray to rent and check and see what is triggering the light? will the scan tool pick it up since its not an ses code.

So the autoxray scan tool wont tell me anything about this if i use it? I cleaned both grounds and didnt affect anything as both lights are still on. Thanks, Michael

I cleaned the ground terminal on the passenger side next to the positive terminal with a wire wheel + sandpaper, and my ABS INOP, Brake, and LOW TRAC lights all went away

I just used orange cleaner, maybe i should try that. Was there any paint between the body and the connectors? I have it on both sides of the car like that..

You need to clean each ring terminal very well on both sides...fine sandpaper is the best and if you can put them on bare metal it's better. Oftentimes the center hole where the bolt makes contact is corroded, and the paint is an insulator.

My V6 did the same thing,I pulled the Relays and cleaned the terminals and fuse box with electronic parts cleaner.

Disconnect the battery first before cleaning the fuse box.

My battery was on the fritz as well, and when I put in my new Optima it all was well.

I'm also having battery problems, because my stereo is killing it i think. My stereo is draining it bad and its starting to cut out on me.

Put in the 850 cca Yellow top Optima and find a smaller alternator pulley to overdrive the Alt and increase your voltage.
