Help 97 dualcat Y pipe. Help.
I'm trying to change out the pasanger side cat.
I need some help getting to the exhaust manifold Nuts. I learnd the hard way that I have to take down the starter. And then I can get a clear shot at that one. I broke the stud on that one. The second one is a clear shot. The third one is the problem. What do I need to get to it? I have a BMR K-member so I know that makes things easer. Thanks for any help. :thumb: Chris G. |

I have a 96 (dual cats). I was able to get to all the nuts w/o taking down the starter but it takes some clever angles to get at it. I remember using a long extension and possibly a wobble extension to give me that extra angle. I actually broke all the studs and ended up drilling out all the studs and replacing them with galvanized bolts.

Any body else?
I have to replace one of the studs on the exhaust manifold. Are they pressed in or do the screw in? Thanks, |

The studs on the manifold are pressed in, I believe, you could probably pick up a used manifold for cheaper than you could get your old one fixed.
Since you have the K-Member, long-tube header install should be a breeze, you should use this as an excuse to upgrade. |
