Help!!!

I had purchased a 95 TA with an LT4 conversion. After going through the engine I noticed that the oil pump drive gear is all chewed up. Should I be using a bronze gear with the Hot Cam or is there possibly another issue?

It very well may have a high volume oil pump. People seem to put these in without knowing why they need it. It can lead to early drive gear failure. You should not need a special gear with a HOT cam.

It did have a HV oil pump but I put a standard volume oil pump back in with this rebuild. What gear should I go back with? Will it matter? Would there be any benefit with going with a bronze gear over a stock one?
