Help!!

The other night, out of the blue, my car almost died and the service engine light come on. I was like WTF!! About 3 minutes later, it did it again, and it started to worry me. Another minute went by and it did it and died. It started right back up and was fine for the rest of the night. I wasn't thinking much about it, and last night, getting on the highway, it stumbled again and the service engine light come on. The service engine light goes off after a couple of seconds, but what in hell could this be???

Places like that can't scan my car cuz it has a OBD1 computer with an OBD2 plug. I've tried. I am afraid that the code has erased itself anyway.

it could be a couple things. it kinda sounds like possibly your opti losing a high or low resolution pulse. did the light stay on or go off while you were driving? the code wont erase by itself so if you can go to a dealership and ask for them to pull the code.. im sure theyd do it pretty cheap if not for free since they didnt actually work on the car. its worth a shot at least.

Mine has also done that 3 times and the SES light came on a litle while for 2 of them. I am going to Autozone on Thursday to get the code read but since the last time it did it was a week age, i'm afraid it will be cleared by then. I hope it is not the Optispark.

Yeah, the light only stays on for a few seconds, then the car drives fine. It happens very infrequently.
