Angry Help...messed up parking brake

I pulled up the park brake and i guess i pulled it up to hard and it went straight up, made a large thud. Now the levers loose and the park brake doesn't work. I pulled the center console out and it appears that the cable is loose. what do i have to do? Do i have to tighten the cable? If so, how? THanks in advance.

Cool

When mine snapped,I had both replaced, because they strech, and I wanted to keep them even.I think it was about $45.00 for the cables.(now I don't pull as hard as before when parking.).Hope this helps.

D-BoZ28, you've been here long enough to know to not over-ride the language filter. Thanks

It's not the easiest thing to change. Basically, you will need access below the car and you need to take the center console off.

Then you need to fish the new cable through the floor and around to the brake handle. There is a little lever on top of the rotating part of the handbrake. You will need to pull that lever back so that you can move the handbrake without tightening the cable. I think you'll see what I mean.

Good luck. It's pretty cramped. I made sure everything was hooked up underneath first, then connected the end inside the car. That's the part where you have to pull the little lever that rests on the gear teeth.

Yeah, I know, but it has a big rubber grommet on it and end links and stuff.
