heater still not working

I tried flushing the system, but it still isn't working. Some of the holes i tried to flush didn't accept water. Is there any way I can find which holes should flow and which ones shouldn't. I would hate to buy a heater core if I don't need one. Anyone got any suggestions. It's starting to get cold and I need to fix it.

The two hoses that go into the firewall from the water pump are the heater cores hoses. You can disconnect both and pressure water through to see how well its flowing through.

FYI a heater core is cheap like $99 from Sam Taylor, Dal, or maybe even gmpartsdirect.com. If you dont know them do a search in this forum, good luck

I can understand your reluctance at wanting to change it though, it is a bugger!!

Re: heater still not working

I just changed my heater core first time last week. Its not very easy, but a lot easier than most other cars.

Anyway, maybe you can pull it out of the car and see if you can flush it out easier (if any big crap comes out) and then put it back in. Or, have a new one ready to put in if you see something wrong with the old one once it is out of the car. (a cheap knockoff brand is $59 at autozone with lifetime warranty)
