heater hose replacement

when replacing the old stock heater hose with the goodyear hose, you need to disconnect one of the old hoses from the bleeder section to place on the new pieces. how do i go about removing the bleeder section? should i just use a saw and cut the pipe at the ends to remove the old connections? or do the connections at the end of the hose just pop/break off of the bleeder pipe? i dont want to break this thing, so thats why i'm asking. thanks for any help.

To replace the individual rubber hoses, you need to carefully remove the crimped collars without cutting into the pipe underneath. You need that pipe to clamp the new hoses to.

Exactly. Don't cut through the part that curves down and touches the pipe you're saving. Basically cut it 90%, then pop the last part with a screwdriver. Otherwise you'll probably nick the tubing underneath. My statement will make mush more sense as you start to cut.
