Heat not working right !!!!!!!! No Blow
Heat not working right !!!!!!!! No Blow
This problem just started a few days ago.......
when i turn on my heat, nothing will blow out for a little while and it makes a funny hissing/spinning noise. The defroster will blow right away no matter what.. just the heat takes a while for any air to blow out at all....... Is there some kind of blower/fan that does this? also, even when the air blows out full, its still not as strong as it used to be.
i've checked the coolant, it is full, and also it does blow out hot after it warms up. Its just weird that when i turn it on heat at first it just hisses and takes a few minutes before anything comes out. Anyone know what this could be or have similar problems?
thanks
jay

So does any air come from the vents ANYWHERE? Like even from the bottom ones?
If air comes from the bottom vent and not the top ones it's more than likely your VACUM TANK
Then again it could be your opti

The air does not come out the regular vents..... I will have to check on the floor vents, i am not real sure on that, but the defroster does work always if that helps.... I will have to check this later when my car is cooled down.
could it be possible that some kind of water or condensation got in the vaccuum tank and froze, casuing the heat to not blow anything till it warms for a while? maybe to thaw?
as for the opti, It can not be this, i only have a 3.8l, i just figured i'd post in the lt1 forum becuase the question applies to all f-bods and you guys are usually alot more helpful and knowledgeable then the v6 forum....
thanks again
