No i dont think 400-425rwhp with heads, cam, gears mayb mid-high 300.if you want good heads figure 1100-1800$$,cam figure 300,gears what like 250 i think bout.you would want a ported intake as well to..to flow better with the heads.you could also do all bolt ons,TB,LT'S ETC...

Correct me if iam wrong..

The "SEARCH" function on this forum is your friend. For more information than you want to know try an "Advanced Search" on Lloyd Elliott in the "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech" forum.

Next do the same thing for Advanced Induction. Spending a few minutes (or hours) reading the threads found in those searches should answer your questions.

i disagree....with the right heads...AFR competition heads for example, and a well matched cam, assuming he has all the supporting mods...(bolt ons, exhuast, tuning, injectors, ect.) 430-45rwhp is not out of the question....but if he just want's to throw some parts together, breaking 400 probablly won't happen.

of course to hit that 430-450 range, the 1100-1800 you alloted for the heads well be blown to hell....looking more like 2200-2600 for heads and then another couple hundred for the intake and port work.
so we'll say 3000ish for the top end, then the cam, (custom grind) 300, and of course all the bolt on stuff that can add up real quick....he's looking at around 4500 or so to do this RIGHT.

on the other hand, the le3 package advertises slightly over 400rwhp, and i've seen it proven.

Re: heads / cam on LT1 = ?

yeah i agree with the mid 300s statement...lets be honest, the original question is coming from someone who sounds like they want to just slap the parts on the car and hope for the best. no offense, thats just how it reads.

anyway, sure a heads and cam car only can make the 400+rwhp mark, but face it, if it was that easy, everyone would be making that kind of power, and i just dont see it happening. so lets stop debating the obvious and answer the question at hand.

honestly, 134k miles is a lot. its one thing to put heads/cam in a car early on and have it last till 134k.... its another thing however, to wait until those miles have already been logged and then do the upgrade. i think your money can be spent more wisely elsewhere

To reach 400 rear wheel hp, you need good heads thats ok. But I think you should rev the car 6000+ rpm to get that power with a NA car. So I think your stock short block will be in danger.
