Heads and Cam coming soon! what to buy...

Hey everyone. After much research and some mods already I have decided to go w/ an XE 230/236 w/ Lloyd's porting. What I was wondering is if I am missing anything that I didnt think I will need or not. So far I already upgraded the valvetrain, cc pro mag 1.6s w/ ex components 612 (.600 lift) valve springs, hardened pushrods, guideplates. I also have Mac headers, a Spec stage 2 Kevlar, rebuilt t-56 (viper shift fork, new syncros) a full custom 3" y-pipe to dynomax muffler (cutout before if I want raspyness). I also have tb-bypass, and usual free mods (no maf screen etc). Now is the question of what do I need now to get a running 380-400rwhp/tq H/C setup?
- LT4/Cloyes Timing Chain which one?
- xe 230/236 112 (110? lopier the better!)
- Lloyd's port job (not sure yet on the specifics, will post as I know)
- Manley? Valves (not sure of size yet)
- Upgrade the Lifters or not? I was thinking keep stock...

Now for what I want with the car, I want a street machine, it is a daily driver, and I am in college so I kinda need it. I want to run 12.0s!! tired of this 13.7.

any help appreciated!
thanks,
Eddy

With the XE 230/236 and ported heads, I'd definitely install new lifters...

you can only use the double roller timing chains if you have an electric water pump.

as for the lifters....atleast buy new ones, dont re-use the old ones. new ones from comp are $170, and the upgraded R lifters are $200.

Get new lifters, or else you will be replacing them a few weeks later. Get new valves also, check out my website for the reason on that one 2.00"/1.56" are probably the best before you run into shrouding the valves, manley 11/32" stem race-flos should be good. LT4 or cloyes depends on whether you have elec H2O pump or not, cloyes if yes lt4 HD if no. Other than that that is everything besides gaskets to get you runnin, what hp, well...we'll see.

Wow, looks like lifters would be a good idea. Nitto 285/40/17s are on the way for christmass also, so traction hopefully gets a little better, but I will be afraid for my stock rearend.... and it looks like I will be using the LT4 timing chain. Time to start stockpiling!
