Just as the topic states. A few of my friends have LS1's. A couple have vettes. 1 is a '02 Z06 & the other is a C5. The Z06 has a blower & is producing around 500 RWHP. The C5 also has a blower with a cam & around 500 RWHP. Now when I talk to these guys they don't even worry about the bottom ends of the LS1/LS6 holding up. They do. I was wondering if anyone runs Heads/Cam with a blower or N2O on a stock bottom end LT1 with any luck or no worries about the bottom ends of the LT1. I would not attempt this on my car cause I know it will blow. Just curious.

I'm on a stock bottom end using a custom grind cam 218/222 with CC 1.6 RR and spring with minor head work and the NX. Putting down 415rwhp/487tq before tuning it. Whenever i have the time i'll finish it and get it tune up and i should be rwhp 450.

I have a friend with a 3rd gen with a LT1 installed with a LT4 hot cam and also on the bottle pushing well over 460 range. Were both on stock bottom ends.

I think with proper fuel a stock shortblock with heads, cam, and a 150 shot is a good combo. I know of several people running the same on a stock shortblock without issues. I personally have gone as high as a 175 shot. See sig. Traction limited run with a 3650 raceweight. With a blower and the compression ratio of the LT1, I don't see a high boost stock shortblock living a happy life.

this guy in my neihborhood has a 95-97 TA (not sure exactly which year although it doesnt matter really) and is running a cam , a vortech and n20 (stock heads and bottom end). i remember when he only had the vortech he had swapped engines 2 or 3 times he (his father really) owns a garage and he thinks he knows EVERYTHING soo...... on the 3rd engine i remember him saying he dropped the compression a bit (different head gaskets or whatnot, i really dont know) . hed be better off just building the bottom end imo to handle what hes throwing at it.

My buddies F-bird is a heads/ cam car and is runnin a 125 shot w/ 100k on the clock. My TNT kit will be here next week. And your buddies cars will break sooner or later. LS-1's aren't invisible to engine damage. Just depends on how good the fuel system is and how much boost their running as to how long it will last.

Well I certainly don't wish them friends to lose a motor. It is just rare to see the LS1 fail. All I know is that the Z06 is the fastes street car I have ever been in. Awsome power & it drives like a normal showroom delieverd car.. It has 150 more RWHP than mine & mine drives like a car that has definately been worked on. I know of one guy that lost his motor on an LT1 with a blower, heads & cam on like his second run down the strip. I was just curious....
