Thumbs up Heads and Cam (Trickflow Flow#'sand Dyno #'s)

So yeah just picked up the Camaro, had AI Trickflow Heads, Cam, headers, TB, a bunch of other associated **** put on. I was up at Carolina Auto Masters for a few hours this morning for the dynotuning (great guys to go with for anything for people around the carolinas)and with 90k wires(onetouching a header tube, so that has to get fixed soon.) I pulled a Max of 410hp,362 tq. I think theres still more in it, I just need to get a few issues solved first. All in all I'm pretty happy though, and it pulls like a raped ape! I haven't recieved the for sure specs, but if I rememberright, the heads peaked at about 298 cfm, and the Cam was of the 23xish/24xish type on a 110 LSA.I'll have the specs when I get all the documentation in the mail. It's alotmore drivable than I thought it was going to be too. Doesn'tseem to drivetoo much different than when I took it in, other than the fact that the power doesn't stop. At least not to where we have the rev limiter set. 6700 is the limit it has on it right now, so I'll probably rev to 6500 or so and see where that gets me. Now I just need to go to the track and see if I can either run a solid time, or grenade the rear end, whichever comes first Hopefully option number one... Anyways, after writing a novel, I'm going to bed. Take it easy.

Re: Heads and Cam

Congrats on the #'s... seeing this kind of thing makes me want to bust the credit card out, order my few remaining parts, install all the stuff collecting dust right now, and hit CAM for a tune!! Where are you located?

Re: Heads and Cam

Congrats on the numbers. Did the dyno-tuners have any idea why you're missing out on so much midrange? Something isn't right with that.

Re: Heads and Cam

Rev it to 7000. Mine peaks at 5800 and I shift at 6400 for the best numbers. Yours peaks around 6300-6400 from what i can tell, so I'd go to 7K to get the best out of it.

Re: Heads and Cam

About the midrange issue, we talked a bit about that. It could be pulling timing from my ypipe smacking against the floorboard, and causing some false knock... Thats one of my things to do this weekend, is try and stop that, or at least make it not so bad. Then the OTVC wires are going in next week so Ican get that #6 plug boot off my header tube... Hasn't burned through yet. So I'm going to get some issues fixed, and go back to CAM with some friends for a dyno day. Anyone from NC is free to meet us up there Group rates are nice!

Brain; The rev limiter right now is set at 6700. I guess Phil recommended to Jeff that the rev limiter be set at 7, but for the sake of my stock bottom end, I think I'll shift around 6500ish.

Neil; Yeah just keep in mind that they were ported and milled for stockish compression. I'm pretty happy though, and I still have some power left in it...
