heads and cam???

my current setup is fast (see sig), but not fast enough for me. its not performing to its full potential because of the small cam and home p/p heads with stock valves. im thinking of putting a bigger cam and either send the heads to lloyd elliot or buy afr heads. i was wondering if it would make a big difference if i do decide to do that? if so, what should i do? get heads ported by lloyd? buy afr heads (which ones?)? custom grind cam? or off the shelf cam (which one?)?

i want overall good power. my low end is insane right now but top end could be better. i would like to hit mid to low 11's with new setup.

this will be a daily driver for about 6 months. after that, im either getting a suzuki gsx600 or a beater car.

also, i have 2 bolt mains with arp main studs. will that be strong enough to handle the new setup and maybe a 100 shot?

Yes, you will notice a big difference by porting the heads. The heads are where you make your power. Which way you want to go really depends on how much you want to spend. Stock heads can make really good power when they are worked. AFRs make good power out of the box, but they don't see their full potential until they have been ported on as well. For mid 11's, I'd probably stick with the stockers and have them fully ported (not the budget port job), you're feeding a 383 after all. And for ~ $50 bucks more than an off the shelf grind, you can get a custom grind cam matched to the heads. Honestly, I would give Lloyd a call and see what kind of magic he can work for you.

Also, I think you'll be fine with a 100 shot and a studded bottom end.

10's NA? That requires some effort and sacrifices. I'd start with some max effort AFR heads and a bigger cam than the 224/230. That would definately be a custom grind to match the heads. Next I'd add some sticky tires, a bigger converter, and a rearend to handle all this with a deep set of gears. A drag spring setup with adjustable shocks and an air bag. Some bigger injectors would probably be needed as well because I believe the 30's would run out in the upper RPM range on such a motor. Most tracks will require a roll bar for anything under 11.50 so that is a must. Lastly would be weight reduction. I'd probably ditch the AC, the spare tire/jack, passenger seats. Look at going with a race seat for the driver. Just get rid of anything that has significant weight and doesn't make the car go in a straight line.
