Heads

Hey ya'll got a quick Q for ya I plan on building a streetable rod out of my 93 LT1 and was looking at the trick flow 200cc head package, are those good heads for a street fighter, if so I will have to get the intake reported also correct, or should I get a coustom intake, I plan on getting a cam and headers cold air all the bolt on goodies but my parts list is coming together slow. I still have to pull the motor, oh it has 160 thou and change on the clock. Thanks all help would be nice later ya'll

You don't plan on installing heads/cam on top of a 160k shortblock do you?

If so, do you have the extra $$ laying around to perform the rebuild you will need shortly thereafter?

I'm not saying "don't do it," but be prepared to have a car sitting on jackstands just in case you run out of $$.

That being said, you sound like you need to do alot more research. Just throwing a set of trickflow heads and a random cam in the car will yield ****-poor results.

Why not just get your stock heads done?

I was just inquiring about the heads, I have to pull the motor as I said and I should have stated that I plan to rebuild the bottom end, and not just pull a random cam off the shelf, And that is why I was asking, parts list is slow just researching one thing at a time. Again would those be a good set of heads for a street fighter type of car? If the other mods compliment them or are they too big for the purpose i have stated.

Get a stock rebuild with a hot cam kit. That will get you close to your performance goals, and cause the minium amount of hassel. Also, with the exception of long tubes, it does not require any other mods or boltons.

for those heads to work properly on a 350 or 355, you are going to have to:
a) put on a blower or turbo
b) get the block zero-decked and heads milled

you would be MUCH better off to buy lingenfelter heads, or go to eportworks.com or advancedinduction.com
