I have a 97 trans am and when I lock the car the headlights pop up and go back down and start making noise. Is this bad motors or maybe some other problem? Need some help before I spend the money and buy motors. thanks

 

It's not the motors, it's the plastic gears inside the motors. Do yourself a favor and do a search for this topic, there are many links that talk about a brass gear that a guy on this board makes so you do not have to dish out $$$ for a new motor.

There's also a way to actuall turn the gears 180 degrees to use the side of the plastic gears that are not damaged, those should come up in your search too.
