When I turn my headlights off on my '97 TA they close fine, but the motor on the driver side makes a noise until I open the door. Does this mean that the motor is starting to go out? this is weird!

 

my 97 ta did that too, get some lubricant and applicate it to the motor and make sure it glides when your done with it and it should work fine... it worked for me until i totaled it friday... if anyone wants a parts car or knows anyone who wants to buy it for parts or to restore it was a 1997 formula with 70k miles (70068) it only has to have the frame mounts changed on the front and a few new things (radiator airbox etc...) enging and trans(6speed) are fine.... i hope it works for you i really loved my car im sure you feel the same aout yours.

 

See Brent's page here. The free fix at the bottom will get you some more time on the existing setup (will eventually fail again), but upgrading to his gears will eliminate the chance of this happening again.
