Talking headers and straight pipes!

so i've heard that headers, no cat, and 3"pipes sound badass all the way back compared to the interior resonation from a cutout. what kinda piping should i get?....like an offroad pipe or H pipe or something. i want people's jaws to drop and little kids to cry when i drive by

I tell you. My friend just fabbed up one of those DynoMouth cat backs. Basically, he had a Flowmaster AT cat back; no cats. He had the DynoMax 3" bullet welded right off the Y pipe and then used the 3" pipes from the cat back from the bullet and dumped a single outlet right over the axle.

This sounds GREAT! It's not loud inside the car, although you KNOW you've got something, but outside, it really turns heads.

I'd use something like that instead of straight pipes...but if you insists, just get a muffler shop to run some 3" pipes for you. If you need any bends, I'd make sure they do mandrel bends or have pre-mandrel-bent joints.

i have that set-up.

headers to an ORP ( no cat) , to a cut-out to straight pipes ( no muffler)

yea it sounds nice, but its WAY too loud...if u drive it alot or everyday...i say stay away from this set-up.....you'll understand why after doing what i did

nahhh there's no such thing as too loud besides, how can it really get much louder than what i have now? all my exhaust is dumped about a foot after my manifold. if i cap the cutout, get headers, and run straights will it sound badass or not? i want it extremely loud and i want it to just sound mean as hell...with a little bit less interior resonation. anybody? oh yea....and do the headers just make the tone much deeper and throatier(besides the performance gains)?

haha yea i want hellishly loud! it already sounds like a nascar now but i wouldnt mind a little louder and for most of the sound to exit the rear. and dont worry about the cops.....around here where i live they dont even notice loud exhaust because of all the trucks that have glasspacks and straights.

i run an open cutout all the time and it seems totally quiet to me........when i get some longtubes, im just gonna run true duals, xpipe, straight out the back.......im thinking that will be loud enough
