Re: headers/ory or gears??

I would suggest the headers, it's true power that will really wake your car up. The steeper your gearing the more trouble you'll have with traction as will a torque converter (these 2 go very well together). As you can see in my sig, gears have been last on my priority list, I even chose to get DRs before gears. Although now they're at the top of the priority list, but that's because there's really nothing economical left for me to do).

Re: headers/ory or gears??

HEADERS!! I just installed mine tonight and it woke my car UP. I used to kick the rear out a tad going from 1st-2nd, now it damn near throws my car off the entrance ramp. It's quite impressive....

Headers didn't change my exhaust sound one bit, nor make that much of a differance except in top end power. Gears, on the other hand, make a differance all over.

ooooh.....yeah didn't think about the 2.73's....I got 3.42's so I lucked out there.

But I am seriously in love with the headers.

Re: headers/ory or gears??

I think you are good to go either way. gears will probly help a lot but headers are just one of the greatest mod's yet! I just did mine and it pulls HARD.

Re: headers/ory or gears??

Well I have longtube headers, just had my 373's put in a couple of weeks ago, and my 2800 stall put in this last weekend. they go great together, but to tell you the truth, I noticed a bigger diff. going to the 373's from 323's. than doing the headers...

Re: headers/ory or gears??

headers and ORY helped me a ton. Look at sig for the differences, initial run with the headers was 8.92 at 81.04 and I tuned it some more for the times in sig. BTW, I want 3.73s and a stall next, some day.

Re: headers/ory or gears??

with 2.73s it looks like u will benefit going either way

id reccomend headers right now , the sound the power and track times are more than enough reason to buy them. i gained .5 secs and 4 mph with just headers(no tune at all,14.2 @98-13.7@101 granted i coulda done better if my tranny wasnt slipping)

gears will help u also but its the lack of traction that will hurt u unless u can hook

Re: headers/ory or gears??

really cant go wrong with either. whichever one you dont do now i would do right after the one you DO wind up doing. gears will get you moving alot faster, and the headers/ory will give you more hp/tq. flip a coin. basically the same results as far as track times.
