Never had a problem with mine except I burned a couple on my headers for not being careful in routing them. I don't use sleeves and only zip-tied a couple areas to just make sure nothing touches.

I have never used heat sleeves before, cable ties have always done the trick for me though.

I have the msd 8.5mm wires on my vette. I had one boot that was burned through because it came into contact with the header. I recently bought some of the taylor boot shields but they didn't fit around the 90 degree boots. I think they make a different type without the metal ring that fits better. I decided to use some tie wraps and looms to pull the wires away and no more problems. I guess I'll be selling the heat sleeves. Does anyone know where to find the MSD replaceable wire boots? Whats involved in changing them? I wrapped it in electrical tape for now.
