I've temped my ceramic jet-hots at ~750 degrees with an IR thermometer. Probably a bit hotter on the inside

I got uncoated edelbrocks. I touched them on accident the other day for about .00001 seconds (give or take a few millionths) and its now left scar tissue.

Im guessing 1000-1300* for my uncoated mild steel headers.

I have been told uncoated headers 1100 degrees.

in my 80 camaro, i wrapped the headers. gets dirty real fast but if your looking to cool the engine down wrap is the best. i can grab my headers after a 2 hour drive and they wont burn me

Not to wonder off here but I thought wrap was only good for short distance and times like for 1/4 mile racing because it actually increases the internal engine temp which is not good
