Which Headers to buy???

I was wondering which headers to get.

What long tube headers will work best with my 95 Z28?
They need to pass E-Check. So I will need like a Y-pipe to
hook up to my cat.

What shorty headers will be best for my car with most gain?

Which headers will make my car sound better long or shortys and which brand is the best for sound and performance??

Long tubes give the best sound and most power.

Shortties: SLP or MAC midlengths
LTs: FLP or Hookers

I think FLP are the only emissions legal LTs out there (could be wrong). Most emissons states will only allow short tubes.

how much do you have to spend? If you are going to go shorties and have a lot of cash i would go with SLP's, RK sports or AS&M's. What kind of emissions checks to you have? visual or just sniffer?

DEFINETLY go with jet-hot coated longtubes!..........best performance for your money.

i bought mine from MASC (forum sponsor).......great service.......theyre only $504 right now!!!

thats the best deal for longtubes

just get a custom made Y-pipe at an exhaust shop that will mate up with your cat, and exhaust. it shouldnt cost any more than $150 for all mandrel bent.

Man, I hope you have better luck with the gaskets than I do! Just around a year and just tonight one side of the 2nd set just blew out.

Atleast when the ricers put those fart cans on their cars, they choose the shotty sound. I am embarrased when my car looks great, runs pretty good and sounds like sanford and son owned it

I also ran the slowest time ever for my car after them, I think tha was because my 02 was heading south

Good luck in your adventures!

Hooker LTs are awesome. I just replaced my shortys for the longtubes and it was like a completely different car. The sound is incredible and the power is awesome. Don't make the mistake that many people do and even think about getting shortys because if you do, you will probably end up changing them out for LTs eventually. I wish I would have listened to the LT owners at first, it would have saved me a bunch of time and money.

Now, go get yourself some Hooker Lts coated.

I went with SLP shorties because I have a lowered car and my exhaust alreay scrapes. The longtubes, from what I hear, scrapes on cars with regulaer clearance. As for why SLP's....becuase they are good quality and have the most HP gain for shorties along with AS&M.
