Headers for 1997 Z28

Any advice or help would be of great appreciation. I am in the market for a set of long tubes and a y pipe and was trying to decide the best way to go. Should I go coated or uncoated or should I try to afford stainless? Who makes the best ones for the money? Can I install them myself? I am pretty mechanicaly inclined and have done engine swaps and done a few intakes on the LS1 and think I could handle putting headers on my LT1. How long does it take on average? Also what does anybody think about Hookers coated or uncoated? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The Hookers are good.I have them.Jet Hots are the same but a little cheaper. And yes get them coated. You should be able to install them. Its going to take a good full day.Not easy but not that hard either.

Stainless would be nice but then you get up in too high prices. Pacesetter is a fairly good longtube headers, and the others joess97 said are also good. Pacesetter is pretty new and the others have been around for a while and have better information.

I went with design the 2nd time i choose headers. Pacesetters don't have a slipfit primary and have a pretty good piping design so i choose them. Good Luck!
