Header Wrap

I'm having problems with my headers melting the spark plug cap on number 8 cylinder. Is header wrap electrically conductive? I figure that this may help.

Thanks in advance

Re: Header Wrap

Header wrap will soak up oil over time and be a fire hazard. I would suggest getting some heat resistant wires like the Accel 9000s.

^--- What he said.

Header wrap is a bad idea. You could also put shielding around the plug wire along with Accel 9000s.

Header wrap can also rust your headers through and cause holes.

Re: Header Wrap

the only way they would melt that cap is if they were touching.

a nice solution is to use spark plugs that have a shorter ceramic "tower".

ACCELs are shorter.... as are most AC delco plugs.... just look for "header" or "Shorty" plugs and you'll find several.
