You could replace O2 sensors, but thats only if you need to. Because sometimes its rusted on there so bad it has to break off, a friend of mine had this happen.

Actually, I've got a tip or two for you.

The number 7 cylinder plug will need to be a short one to fit. I used the old AC for that one but the new Autolites fit all other cylinders.

The Y-pipe won't fit too well. It's a two piece one and will need to be welded once fit. I guess you could clamp it if there's enough engagement, but it looks much better welded.

I used Fel-pro gaskets at the head and soft aluminum gaskets at the collectors. That's probably the only thing that will last.

The coating will be gone in about a year. I wouldn't have bought them if I'd known that!

Re: Header installation tips wanted

i just installed slp's, now im not sure about pacesetters, but i had to remove my alternator, dipstick, steering shaft, #6 plug and #8 plug. Passenger side from the bottom, drivers side dropped in from the top. Like nine stated, I had a o2 siezed in the old manifold while the other came right out.

Cant remember if 95's have dual cats or not, but I had to cut the little pice of metal thats welded on the y pipe just before the pass side cat, and that allowed me to seperate the y enough so the drivers side flanges would line up.

Other then that I used anti-sieze on the bolts, and just take your time with it. It is cramped in there, so lot of points will be a struggle. Oh, and be carefull not to drop the header onto the coolant temp sending unit on the drivers side. Happy Wrenching...

Just make sure you have all sorts of tool before you start. Lots of wrenchs and a sawzall never hurts either.

Re: Header installation tips wanted

Thanks for the suggestions guys, Ill be "helping" do the install at my brother-in-laws shop, www.autocraftomaha.com , we traded some labor time, I painted the upper 2/3 of his house and trim, and he is doing most of the install.

If you go to his site check out the 36 ford (502 ramjet) and the 37 chevy(95 lt1) under restorations, those are his personal cars he built.

Tommy'sZ, I had them ceramic coated here in Omaha with a 5 yr full warranty.
