Exclamation Header gasket Install Tricks

Ok,
I got the Felpro 1406s for my Mac's from Jet-Hot
Did some searches and came up with lots of tricks just wondering which is best?
Should I soak paper gaskets in water to let it swell
Or coats them with spray on ultra copper
Or run a large bead of copper around D 's
Or just trhow em in and tighten em?

Also the ends of the 1406s don't line up to the front and rear bolts, is this normal?

Thanks in advance

I just put the gaskets in. There is two sets of holes on the front and back of the heads for the headers to bolt on. Use the one closest to the exhaust port and they should line up. After the engine has gotten hot a couple of times, tighten the header bolts up again.

They were $25 at O'Reily. They are pretty beefy especially compared to the paper ones I had.

Mac Headers

There in lies the question,
The Mac headers I have only have the bolt holes to use the outer bolts, and the Gaskets only go as far as the inner bolt holes.
Will it be ok to still use thes gaskets?

Well... If im not mistaken, those gaskets have open ended bolt holes on the ends so you dont have to remove the outer bolts from the headers during the swap. Is that what you mean?

The gasket will be even with the header flanges once installed, so theres not going to be anything hanging over if thats what your thinking was meant by the previous response.

Could you clarify what you mean by "The Mac headers I have only have the bolt holes to use the outer bolts, and the Gaskets only go as far as the inner bolt holes"?

What do you mean by inner bolt holes and outer bolt holes?

If that is the case just clip the ear off of each end and bolt it in.

clarification

On The Block , At each end of the manifold / header there is 2 bolt holes, only one is used depending on apllication,
Original manifolds used inner holes (closer to the D ports)
Mac Headers use Outer holes,
fel pro gaskets only go as far as the inner bolt holes
