header comparison BBK vs. Pacesetter LTs

Strictly comparing BBK chromed shorties to Pacesetters long tubes, both packaged like new with Y pipe etc. What would be preferrable for spark plug access?
Obviously for smog go with BBK's. That doesn't matter right now.

wow its like night and day comparison. first off one is legal the other is not. the long tubes gives ya more horspower and torque longtubes also make changing plugs a whole hell of a lot easier. if you dont have smog then definately go with the longtubes

Yea, you read right. I do have shorties, but they are a knock off of some SLP shorties with a fabbed in Y pipe that hits the K-member sometimes. The shorties are good for "shorties", but access to plugs...dont ask.
I was looking at how good plug access is with BBK's? as I have heard a lot pacesetters really are great all around.

i have bbk's and they are a pain when it comes to changing the plugs. My friend has ps longtubes and i was amazed by how much room he has to change his plugs. Taken that installing longtubes are a pain from what i hear, i would go with the longtubes!!

What are the drawbacks to long tube? Somebodys other thread said that long tubes interfered with their rear brake lines and they have to be rerouted away from the header?? Sounds like a pain. Is that true?

You may scrape railroad tracks and other things if your car is lowered. Also, they won't pass emissions in some states but other then that their awesome.

I would definitely opt for the LTs versus the BBK shorties. Better power gains and very good spark plug access. I haven't had any ground clearance problems with my Pacesetters, they tuck up very nicely as well.

I think there are emissions-legal long tube headers... ?? ... but I'm not sure about this.

i have pacesetter's and they are amazing, i would almost pay the money just for the fact you can get to the plugs. watch it around speed bumps, and you'll be fine

The Pacesetters offer two versions, the race style which does not have the AIR or EGR Fittings and then the "emissions" style which does incorporate those fittings to keep those factory systems intact. However, even with the emissions fittings, the headers are still technically non-emissions compliant as they either get rid of the catalytic converter(s) altogether, or relocate it, which are both emissions equipment violations.

There you go. Thats the word. Pacesetter is the header if and only if emissions does not matter whatsoever!!!
Thanks for your input.
