Header Bolts
Some of them are VERY MUCH easier to get to if you go from the bottom with the starter removed. I believe the 3, 4, 5, 6 header bolts are all easier from down low (although it might just be 4,5,6). The first three are right there.
Have you not taken the dip stick out? If not, then unbolt the one bolt that holds the dipstick to the block. Slowly from the top of the car pull the dipstick and tube out of the block by slightly wiggling (sp) it back and forth. After the dipstick is gone, you are on the home stretch.
